The new Corporate Headquarters of the infrastructure group (see visualization) is being constructed on Opernplatz in Essen—HOCHTIEF’s traditional location since 1938. The six-story building will fit seamlessly into its surrounding development. Planted courtyards and roof areas will also make a positive contribution to the urban climate.
CPB Contractors, as part of a joint venture, has been awarded a contract to extend the rail network in Perth, Western Australia. The company, which is part of CIMIC Group, will extend two railroad lines and build five new suburban rail stations as part of the “Metronet” program.
A new power tunnel is being constructed under London to safeguard the British city’s future energy needs. A HOCHTIEF joint venture has been awarded the contract for the second, 32.5-kilometer-long, section of the works. The contract volume is about 470 million euros.
