On the cover of this issue of our magazine you can see a section of the SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles, which was completed by Turner Construction a few months ago. It has turned out to be one of the biggest, most beautiful, and most digitalized arenas in the world. In order to shape state-of-the-art into such spectacular buildings, construction companies themselves must constantly become more and more digitalized. HOCHTIEF plans to continue staying at the forefront of these developments in the future. It has launched a company—Nexplore—on a mission to map new continents, to bring the best young thinkers on board as it goes, and to find completely new applications and solutions. Nexplore will become the catalyst of a new ecosystem in which universities, partners, suppliers, startups, and of course all HOCHTIEF companies promote and shape the digitalization of our industry.
In various articles in this issue you can already take a look at what this future might look like. For example, you can meet our robot dog Spot, watch the approach of a tunnel boring machine that is controlled remotely from a distance of more than 10,000 kilometers, and read an inspiring double interview with Nexplore’s CEO and Germany’s leading AI researcher at TU Darmstadt.
